Hokianga Self Catering Houses
This 1880's colonial cottage
is in the historic village of Kohukohu, originally settled in the 1830's and
once the centre of the Kauri milling industry in Northland.
We hope you will enjoy waking up to see the sunrise over the hills across the
harbour, possibly take a stroll to the local cafe for a great coffee and
breakfast and spend time with local residents that really make the village worth
a visit.
If you find yourself without a good book or with itchy feet there is plenty to
do in the area; locally you can wonder the lanes of Kohukohu and see pictures of
a bygone era and within half an hour you can explore the Kauri Forest, huge sand
dunes and deserted beaches.

Kohukohu Cottage is located beside the
harbour in the village of Kohukohu. The cottage has two bedrooms, a living room
and two verandas, a fully equipped kitchen, barbecue, washing machine,
telephone, small TV, DVD player and radio. There is a bathroom with a bath,
shower and hand basin. An adjacent room contains a toilet and hand basin.
Heaters are in the bedrooms and living room. Linen, towels and duvets are
supplied. Undercover parking is available for one car.
The first bedroom contains a queen bed. The second bedroom contains a double bed
and a single bed.
There are excellent harbour views from the bedrooms, living room and kitchen.

Hokianga View is a lovely
eco-friendly home, with magnificent views of the Hokianga Harbour and its
stunning sand dunes, as well as the ocean and inland hills. Resting on the hill
above Omapere, once there you can barely see another house, allowing fabulous
peace and privacy.
The property has just over a hectare (2.4 acres) of landscaped gardens,
regenerating native bush, orchard and a meadow. The house is designed to take
advantage of all day sun and has two double bedrooms, each with access to a
sundeck and great views. Due to our recently completed renovations, there is now
a brand new bathroom and kitchen.
The house is fully 'off grid' with electricity produced using solar panels and
stored in batteries. There is plenty of electricity for lights and small
appliances.
