to partake in the many outdoor activities the the wonderful Hokianga region
offers.
Bev is a well known artist and teacher and she can assist you to create your own
wonderful memory of your visit to this part of Northland, New Zealand. Her
studio is large and well appointed, with a café style coffee machine so you can
relax on the upper deck with your book and your latte, flat white or espresso.

Koutu Lodge
is situated on the south shore of the Hokianga Harbour. It is 5 minutes drive
from Opononi. About 4.3 km from Opononi towards Kaikohe, you turn left into
Koutu Loop Road. You drive for 2.3 km and then you can see our sign "Koutu
Lodge" on the right of the road.
Our lounge has the most
spectacular view of the Hokianga Harbour, right across to the sand dunes over
to the other side of the crystal clear waters of the Harbour.
Enjoy a good hearty continental or cooked breakfast all included in your tariff.

The B&B room is part of our house but
has its own outside entrance at ground level and a view to the sea.
There is a queen sized bed and a king single bed in the large bedroom so double,
twin or three people can be accommodated.
The room is equipped with a TV, jug for tea and coffee making, heater, fan, hair
dryer and fridge.
You have your own separate bathroom and toilet.
A continental breakfast is supplied in our dining area and this is a good
opportunity for us to provide you with any local information you may require.
There is an excellent restaurant less than 5 minutes walk along the beach.

Riverhead Guest House is situated on the
upper end of the Hokianga Harbour at Horeke overlooking the head of the tidal
harbour and the mouth of the Waihou River. It is a fine old kauri colonial
style house, which was built in 1871 and extended and 'modernised' in 1912. It
remained unchanged from that time until the early 1980's when it was bought,
resited and restored by the Holdaway family who resided in it for approximately
20 years.
